I'm looking for someone to do something very similar to the noise gate/ mic noise suppression app which you seem to have done previously.
What was the outcome of the project? were you able to achieve the desired results?
The app I have developed is designed so that you can listen to music on your phone/iPod touch, and still hear someone speaking to you (live, not pre recorded) through a microphone via wifi (MP3 music mixed with the voice revieved over wifi). Essentially a server device which allows vocal communication to client devices via WiFi.
The issue we are having is that the sound of the background noise coming from the server device when the person is not talking into the mic is distracting and ruins the quality of the music.
My thoughts are to implement a noise gate or similar which attenuates the signal being sent to client devices when the server device is not receiving vocal input.
-anything under a certain decibel level is either not transmitted to client devices or lowered significantly so as that it is not noticed by people listening to music on client devices, until such a time that the server device receives a direct vocal input and the decibel level raises to mix 'evenly' with the music. (music level does not change, or may attenuate slightly when voice is received over WiFi.)
How confident are you of solving this issue?
