We have a branded Forum Runner app which runs our IP Board (forum):
Ever since upgrading our forum software from version 3.2 to 3.4.2 and 3.4.3 there is now a glitch making it so if our users click on a specific thread the iPhone app says "page does not exist". We have the latest versions of both software. This appears to be an issue with the Forum Runner forum plugin but I suppose could be an issue with the iPhone app itself though I don't think so. At the moment they claim to not have the immediate time to fix our issue pretty much (even though other IP forums have it now) and recommended we hire a freelancer to fix it (as pathetic as that sounds we are DESPERATE to get this working). So we need someone to patch us up with a quick fix until Forum Runner decides to care about their paid customers and fix the issue as our iphone app is currently unusable.
Developing members of the IP forum (non-employees) expect this is the culprit:
But Forum Runner is saying they doubt it basically. But looks like a solid lead to me...
Here is the past two important comments from Forum Runner to us on the issue via our support ticket:
"It seems that when we try to request the page from your site, we get a weird number back. Like for example, on a regular ipb site we'd get page 5 back, on yours we're getting page 717000 back. Which is what seems to be causing the problem."
"First, I am so sorry about the horrible experience that you are having with our product. Our developers have found a bug that we believe is miscalculating critical page values that are needed in order for Forum Runner to work properly on your forum. Unfortunately, we do not have the development bandwidth to trouble shoot the root cause and fix it for you. You may need to look into independent developer talent for that. IPB might also be able to help you, as the error might be coming from the IPB software; thought, we are not sure."
