Project Description:
I'm a new developer and am trying to figure a few basic things out. Specificially I have this problem:

I checked out some some public code (for a mobile iOS app) from a google code SVN repository. I want to create a new local repository and check the code into that so I can modify it and make changes to the program. I'd like to know the extent of this process. Whether it is simply providing me with a list of steps to go through, or if the code itself must be modified to allow me to use it in my own repository on my computer.

Thanks
Omar
