Much can be said of a man by his taste in women, but much more can be spoken of his preference in alcohol. I dislike beer; far too much is detracted from ones appearance when he holds those brownish bottles, and I despise drinks that seem to add too much, such as flavored margaritas and other colorful concoctions that speak as much to ones desire to be notice as his desire to trick himself into loud inebriation.
I prefer a plain drink, hard, and on the rocks. A simple Grey Goose martini, ungarnished and simply presented, is all I need to make the best of my presence in any drinking hole, or, more likely, finer establishment. It allows me to savor it, saving me the rudeness of constantly excusing myself for either the bar or the bathroom. Its taste refreshes the mouth and provides a sharp buzz, rather than sullying ones breath as with beer, making him unpleasant company. Lastly, its glass, while not as ungainly as a beer bottle, is a fine accessory to a dinner table, to ones clothing, or to ones equally curvaceous date. less

Some people catch ocean waves while others chase sound waves. Their experience becomes yours for a moment, as You imagine a journey that may be so far from your every day life, or so close to home. My favorite drink is a unique one, a Whale Watcher, the specialty of my beach club in Montecito. It was invented many years ago by the legendary Mario, the Chief Bartender there. The drink begins with a thoroughly chilled, large rounded glass filled with very cold shaved ice. First, a shot of light rum is added, then a shot of Myer's Dark rum. After that is mixed a shot of Banana Liquor. Then, fruit juices in the form of pineapple juice and gratefruit juice are added, and ultimately grenadine which brings additional flavor and gives the drink it's distinctive red color. As a final touch, Ronrico 151 rum is floated gently on the top. The drink is best served in the jacuzzi at the club while watching a romantic sunset... less
