Project Description:
Hello,
We are looking for someone to design a simple software program that will run as a Windows Service. It will be an intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS). It must have these features:
Monitors Windows Event Log to detect failed login attempts
Ban IP addresses based on failed login attempts
Unban feature
Compatibility with Windows Server 2003/2008/2008R2/2012 and Windows XP/Vista/7/8
Run as a Windows Service
Service can be set to auto-start after system reboot
Have a simple user interface
Whitelist/blacklist
Some sort of a log to show bannings/unbannings
Software Licensing. We wish to license this software to potential customers.
There must be a settings menu to adjust banning parameters. For example: 3 failed logins in a 5 minute timeframe will ban the IP for 24 hours. And will unban the IP after 24 hours automatically.
Each of the numbers above are a separate setting.
