Create a windows client\server application that connects to a WebService on a scheduled basis to synchronize with the server the list of items that will be displayed when the user maximizes the application from the system tray.
The data resides in a SQL Server database (which already exists). Data retrieval will be a web service in ASP.NET (the current code is in ASP pages).
The application will need to run any WIN 2000 and above.
App will start automatically on start up, and needs to run in the background (unless exited)
showing an Icon in the System tray. App needs to run in the background and update the locally stored data (in an XML file) on a configurable scheduled basis. When the Application is maximized by clicking the icon in the system tray It should display in the interface (I will provide the spec) the most up-to-date information available locally.
The Web Service that supplies the most recent data needs to be written in C#, APS.NET.
The client side application (which will be pulling the data from the webservice and providing the interface to the user, can be written either in .Net (C#, or VB.Net) or C++).
The user interface that will display the data should be implemented either as a DataGrid type control or Using WebBrowser control with and HTML page built on the client.
I will show the web based application that the Client Side user interface should resemble.
This application will serve as the back-up mechanism for the Web Based application.
In cases where the connection to the internet is lost.
I will provide further details to the interested bidders.
