I have a small C#.NET Web application that basically opens a TCP SSL port and listens on that port for incoming client connections. Our client hosts sends connection request to this C#.NET application and creates a socket by opening a TCP connection to that port. This socket need to be active continuosly. The .NET application uses this socket to communicate certain info to the hosts. The problem is that our socket server is implemented within the web application, but lifetime of web application (ASP.NET) is controlled by IIS, specifically by ASP.NET application pool. Therefore our server socket stops listening on its port after a while and incoming client connections are no longer accepted. I require someone to implement server either as windows service or SOAP web service or any other optimal way of doing so and leave everything else as a web application. Let me know!
