The objective of this web site is to publish analysis of current news via an opinion editorial (op-ed) weekly site. Develop 2 Dreamweaver template pages from which all pages for the web site will be developed. Creat the pages associated with the 5 top level tabs (ore menu items). Also develop? Subscribe, Contact Us, Send Opinion, and Donate? forms from one of the template pages. The data of these forms should be in one relational database,? e.g.? Access.? ## Deliverables **A. Web Site Description: ** 1. Objective is to publish analysis of current news via a opinion editorial weekly on the web site 2. Develop 2 easy to use Dreamweaver template pages from which the pages for the web site will be developed 3. Expect Dreamweaver templates with professional done graphics in the colors I suggested, with the tables and cells laid out as editable to create pages from. 4. The Front Page is the home page, showing the necessary tabs on the top 5. Front page will always display the latest article and may continue on to a subsequent page 6. I will always have the same Front Page that I will edit things in and out. Once someone reads the Summary and the Analysis at the end of it will be a link for "more", which when clicked will go to a page developed from the Subsequent Page template. 7. The tabs or menu choices in the Front Page are. Speak Out, USA, Foreign, Donate, and Contact. Once those pages are accessed other pages will be linked and there will be other pages linked from those pages. 8. For the left column of the Front Page, is sectioned by Opinion Summary, Analysis (which is a continuation of the article), and Previous Opinion Summary (where I will copy the previous opinion Summary, and Others (allow for two other short brief and links to two other previous article links). 9. Also from the Front Page continuation of the opinion analysis will be linked by "more" as discussed in the previous paragraph. 10. For the right column, the top cell (top of Subscription to SpeakCard Opinions) of the right side column, will be a place for a picture or graphic related to the Opinion Summary. 11. The bottom cell (of Subscription to SpeakCard Opinons) will be for links to other pages or other information outside of this web site. If going to other pages within this web site the link will just bring up that page. If going to a page on another web site it should open up a new window (.blank). 12. The gray box on the banner and the gray box at the bottom right are exclusively for advertisements. 13. Need separate templates for each of the tab pages created from the same "Subsequent Page" template. I would like to have the functionality to have different advertisement for different tabs (Front Page, Speak Out, USA, Foreign, Donate, and Contact Us). Therefore, when an ad changes, I just change the template, and all pages created from that "tab template" has the same ad. 14. Older articles move to subsequent pages with links from the different tabs based on the tab context the topic of the article 15. I am planning on manually moving the previous front page article to the subsequent page template to create a new page and then link that from the appropriate tab page. 16. I will use Dreamweaver to create new pages from the templates designed, and manually enter (or cut and paste e.g. from MS Word), insert pictures, etc. to create new pages. That way I have more control on the look and feel of each page. 17. The web site requires dynamic relational database requirements for charging, article submission, and donation and contact us management. **B. Design ??" Look and Feel:** 1. Please see mock up of front page and subsequent page [Figures 1 and 2 below). The colors of the mock up needs to be changed. 2. The mock up was made from an HTML template that was purchased (Fireworks png file of the mock up can be provided if needed). 3. The color of the web site should be shades of the base color RGB (20, 80, 150) blue or lighter in the same RGB scale as appropriate. 4. Underline color in the web site name: Red? (250, 40, 20) 5. Use other colors as necessary to show a modern and lively look (not gaudy) 6. Include Date and Time feature on location shown in the mock-up 7. The web pages should be designed for 1024 x 768 displays, the width should show in full in 1024, the vertical can scroll down of course **C. Administration and Update: ** 1. The editor will use Dreamweaver and Fireworks to create and update the news opinion pages 2. Need the flexibility and ease of use to create new pages from dream weaver templates 3. The pages will have areas on the top and bottom right for advertisements 4. Right column will be used to create links to older or other articles, which will be developed from the subsequent page template 5. Right column may also be used for pictures and advertisement by inserting jifs or jpegs 6. I expect to change the right column from time to time and depending on the amount of links/advertising I would like to have the flexibility to have a different right column for each of the 5 top level tabs. Within a tab the same information can repeat for the right column as common. In other words, I probably need a Dreamweaver type template for each of the tabs to create pages from. **D. Subscribe, Contact Us, Send Opinion and Donate pages: ** 1. Create a Subscription page accessible from the Subscribe icon from the front page 2. Leave text area on top to explain the subscription process 3. The page form should be on the left hand column of the subsequent page template 4. The Subscription page should have the capability to verify e-mail address before accepting name and address and e-mail id 5. Create a Contact Us page, where an e-mail needs to be verified, and? the name ad address and message will be captured and spam avoidance feature included 6. Create a secure Subscription Payment and Donation page to accept American Express, Visa and Master Card charges 7. Donations go directly to a bank account; (credit card information not saved) to accept donation of 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 dollar donations 8. A thank you e-mail should be sent directly to the e-mail address confirming the donation 9. The above information including other optional information are to be saved and retrieved from an Access database identifying those who subscribed, unsubscribed and sent contact us information 10. The web site should also have a login system or email registration account while posting something. **E. User Registration** 1. A user can post a Letter to the Editor, purchase merchandise (future) or request HTML email of new opinion front page articles. 2. The will require registration to provide a working e-mail address. 3. To register, the desired screen name, password and a working email address is entered. The screen name is permanent, and is the signature for all Letters to the Editor submitted. 4. Once the required information is entered and clicked "submit," a confirmation e-mail is sent. To complete the registration, users need to retrieve the confirmation e-mail and follow the instructions provided. **F. Administrative:** 1. Create Access database administration pages 2. Create other administration pages as necessary 3. Administration page should have the functionality to send an HTML e-mail of the latest home page to those who subscribed 4. Administration page should have the functionality to send e-mails to those who contacted us 5. Those who wish to unsubscribe should be tagged, and HTML page e-mail should not be sent to them 6. I like to have "easy to use" and "meaningful" naming conventions for web pages. I like full names of more than one word to make it clear. I do not like underscores unless necessary. If at all I like dashes (-) in file names more than underscores. 7. For the Titles of each page I like full names, for example the title for the Foreign tab say "[login to view URL] Opinion Editorial, Foreign" and all pages created from that template should have the same title. The titles are important to me for search engines and also for a fully professional site. **G. Future Additions (for base design information)** 1. Include subsequent pages for categorized SpeakCard related merchandise on line store and shopping cart 2. On-line customers automatically added to the same Access database with tags as merchandise customer 3. Self regulated blog feature for readers to exchange opinions **H. Other** 1. Feature of any of the above will be further clarified in discussions with the coder. 2. Please confirm that I would own full and complete rights to the design, look and feel, and functionality. 3. I do not have charge account yet, however, will get one and suggestions are welcome. 4. A prototype would be great to finalize the concepts. I realize I need to make a decision soon. 5. A prototype would be great to finalize the concepts. **Figure 1. Front Page Mock Up (To be provided to interested bidders)** **Figure 2.
