Our Company/ Our Needs:
We offer email marketing services to our clients. Currently, our clients submit HTML designs to us. Members of our staff format them in Front Page, FTP them to our server, and use a lyris based list management system to email them to the appropriate database. Our goal is to automate this process.
In the new interface, users should be able to paste in HTML or use an editor to paste it in or create it and at the click of a button submit it and have a “test” copy of their email sent to a member of our staff for approval. Our staff should be alerted to the presence of an email that needs approval, have the ability to make changes to that email, and send the email to the appropriate database. Each database can be sent to using an email command and password. The entire interface should be in an extremely straight forward “what you see is what you get” format. Users without extensive web design experience should be able to use this new interface with ease.
As our company expands, we will be redesigning our website and expanding our services. This interface should be universal enough to be included in a new website without complication.
We need a script that will act as a web-based admin interface program to allow management of email submitted content to send messages through our email program using virtual email commands and passwords.
1) Submission page - contact information and email content creator form:
-Description of services and costs
-Contact information inputs of submitter – first, last name, company, address, city, state, zip, phone, cell, date of email send, list
-Content subject line
-plain text area
-HTML input field or HTML creator that allows for one to cut and paste a word document or create a web page using editing tools. This would allow image urls to be uploaded or pasted and posted to our site or an ftp and create/format absolute url codes in the html.
-Once content is submitted an email will be sent to notify us of the new message and hold it in que for admin approval.
2) Admin page - allowing our admin/employees to log-in with different levels of
passwords. One to allow editing of admin features and another to approve messages, edit them and send.
-Choose where the message is going
- multiple choices would send the same email to each address associated with the choice.
- Ability to edit the message
- Ability to approve the message and approve it.
-Our email program allows for virtual sending of email. To do this an email message needs to be sent to a specific address with the password attached in the body of the message.
-The admin features would list possible email list options to send the message to (segment options) correlating to an email address/command.
-The admin area would automatically attach the password to the email body and allow for the admin to choose to send to one or many of the email commands.
-segments (each having a matching email address command). If multiple segments are chosen they would be cc'ed on the same message.
