I need someone to install a VideoLan (VLC) to my Linux server. VideoLan is supposed to be a media streaming solution for non-windows server. http://www.videolan.org has detailed information about the program including installation and how-to manual. I'm just too busy with other stuff and ain't technical enough for this. I need for you to install it to my server, which I'll give access to, and also to create a simple webpage that plays a streaming video (real streaming, not HTTP streaming or progressive download) just to confirm that it was installed and functions well. Please let me know if you have any question.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

Hi, I've posted this project on VLC installation few days ago, but I haven't selected anyone yet. The reason is because I don't have root access to my server. But I do have SSH access, but not as root. So I'm not sure if it's possible to even install this. If you can, can you let me know if VLC can be installed without the root access. Here's the link to the VLC installation page. http://www.videolan.org/doc/vlc-user-guide/en/ch03.html If you can install it without the root access, please let me know. My server is Linux and I believe it's Fedora Core4. Thank you.
