Hello Coders,
Here is a competition for you...
_Bottom Line
_**Come up with the most creative use for this software
Demonstrate this in action
Any resulting source code must be open source
**
Premise Home Control is a pretty flexible platform for doing all kinds of event processing / scheduling for devices around the home.
The software is designed to be a central controller for your digital media, lighting, heating, air conditioning, motion sensors. In fact it can pretty control whatever you want as long as you can connect the thing to a serial port, network port or infrared.
Although it's aimed at Home Automation it can do much more. This competition is about finding the most creative use for this software. For the purpose of this competition you don't have to limit yourself to Home Automation.
The central core is an object oriented database, eventing system and network/serial IO. It has a web server and scripting built in as well as lots of other goodies that you can use.
There are 3 prizes I will give.
_***First Prize***_
The value of this bid (**$200**) and a **free** copy of **Premise Home Control Professional** edition ($1000 value)
*_**Second Prize**_*
A **free** copy of **Premise Home Control Professional** Edition ($1000 value)
***_Third Prize_*
**A **free** copy of **Premise Home Control Personal Edition ($300 value)**
*_How it will work..._*
This bid request will start as soon as this bid request is posted and remain open until 10pm (PST) March 12th. During this time the competition is running.
When the bid request closes all entries must have been received. On **March 15th** I will change the bid request to reflect the results of the competition.
Finally, I will accept the overall winner as the winning bid request and escrow/release payment to them. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will be sent their prizes independently.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.

## Deliverables
Some creative solution that integrates the software
**UPDATE**: To clarify... The line "**Demonstrate this in action**" means you need to have a running (or at least partially running) implementation of your solution to enter the competition. If you can build a space station in 30 days that runs SYS then it qualifies. Otherwise, you just get points for most outrageous suggestion <grin>
