Webpage Rendered Image to png or jpg (Debian 6.0.5 Linux)

Project Description:
1. Overview

We are working on a website that is a directory of web-pages. Web-pages can be accessed by clicking on thumbnails previously stored. We need a utility which will take a snapshot of a web page, convert it to an image format, either png or jpg.

There are lots of websites which provide thumbnail images as a service. We are NOT interested in relying on any third party website. We need to generate png or jpeg images on our machine as fast as possible after a new URL is submitted.

2) OS, Hardware

What we have. A VPS host with 1024MG RAM, and 11 virtual processors. The OS is Debian 6.0.5. The system is set up for development and has gcc, g++, php, perl, python already installed. We will install anything else you might need.

We also have installed Qt4 version 2.8.1 the last stable version before 2.8.2/Qt5, WebKit has also been installed.

Optimally we would like to start with the code below and have a little multi-threaded "server" that accepts requests which contain URLs, image sizes and a target path, and can handle multiple requests.

This code below comes close to what we need, it just needs to run in our environment.

The winning bidder will be given access to an account on our system to do the work. Incomplete work is NOT acceptable. It is a fixed cost, "no cure, no pay" job. If you are not confident that you can get this job done then do NOT bid.

If you have a working program by the end, you will be paid for your work. If you do not have a working program then you won't.

You have to explain beforehand what you intend to do. We expect to see some progress within 2 of awarding the project.
