Bespoke Intranet

We require the development of a small, simple intranet to be accessed by the employees of our client, a medium sized business. A user will register themselves and, after being approved by an administrator, will log in to access resources. The intranet will consist of: Home page with news articles and events regarding company issues. News articles and events will be written and published by any user. A document library, where files can be uploaded into categories. An address book for internal staff will use the information gathered when each user registers. This should allow browsing and searching. A user can update their own profile and photo. An address book for external contacts, such as contractors, clients and suppliers. Any user will be able to add or amend a record. It should allow browsing and searching. A diary to book and reserve facilities like meeting rooms and projectors. A wiki to build up a knowledge base of common questions and answers. A forum for staff members to discuss current projects. If an existing software package for the diary, wiki or forum is used, authentication must be integrated so that a user only logs in once for the whole intranet. The intranet must be developed with PHP and MySQL. Pear MDB2 must be used as the database abstraction layer. Smarty must be used for HTML and email templates. Only minimal wireframe templates are required from the coder, merely black text on white background with no style or layout. The templates will be styled by our own designer after delivery. A detailed requirement specification is being written and will be provided to the coder at the beginning of the project. We look forward to your input. ## Deliverables The coder must deliver good quality PHP source code, that is not obfuscated in any way. It must be well commented and straightforward for us to maintain in the future.
