You have to develop a GUI-based (Applet) Chess program in Java using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern. The program should be able to let two players play chess games through a computer. The functionality of the program should be same as how a chess game is played by using a real chess board and monitored by a human referee. That is, the program should have two main functionalities, 1) As a visual, virtual chess board for the players to play their chess games on the board. 2) As a virtual referee to monitor the game, check the game rules, and control the game.
The program should also support 1) Timer control: the total time that each player can make moves has time limit. 2) Save un-finished game: a un-finished game can be saved in a file and can be restored in next execution of your program. 3) Undo/redo moves: a player can undo/redo her/his moves in an arbitrary number of back steps up to the beginning of the game.
The program should also have the option to be played in the local network or intranet.
When developing the program, the following steps should be followed:
1)Draw the UML class diagram for your program with full signatures
2)Draw a UML sequence diagram to show how objects of your program handles one player’s move in a normal case in middle of the game.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
