Project Description:
# 1: flagship portal.

For the casual site visitor who has not registered or signed up they shall only be able to browse for domains availability, web hosting or website services ([re-]design, construction and maintenance). Kind of like godaddy.com - only better. And the option to choose a different language.

For those that opt to sign up they shall be offered an extended menu that includes ecommerce with the conventional instruments (credit cards, paypal, etc) + locally available mobile (cellphone) money payment options. Requires backend programming for integration.

Among the menus available for signed in visitors shall be subscription for internet access time at a local internet cafe chain, emigration services (centered around the American diversity visa lottery), a registration service for interns and consultants (that includes a resume upload like the PHP form of un.org), access to various start-up projects - crowdsourcing ideas to improve on their implementation (these project menus would lead to fully developed mini-sites) to mention but a few.

The signed in members shall also have access to for-kids, for-developers, for-government and for-educators sections.

The site shall have social media embedded/plug-ins, a newsletter, live chat (and a live cam feed?) not to mention the ability to collect detailed visitor statistics (including trigger events like when a sale or purchase is made), browser sensing (so that the right site is displayed e.g., the site for mobile devices or the site in an appropriate language of the visitor - the way google does).

There shall be no advertisements on the homepage but there shall be lots of advertising space on any inner pages after that with a yet-to-be-patented ad-space auctioning web-app. For signed in visitors the advertising shall be more subtle and targeted according to the demographics collected at sign up.

The homepage should be minimal (like google's) and shall undergo frequent refreshes (themes?) + have a ritual similar to Google's doodle (that keeps visitors coming back especially on holidays just to see what they created this time).

The frontend of the site shall require good graphical design skills while the backend shall require very good programming skills to bring together products being resold from different vendors into our online store + adding the mobile money payment option to the usual/standard payment methods available with off-the-shelf payment processing tools.

# 2: A 40-year old law firm.

An old African law firm that would like to connect with today's clientelle wishes to open a functional website. They wish to be able to share documents (the 'legal' edition of google apps for business?) which allows different branch offices to work on and share documents online.

They also wish to create a searchable repository of their existing large stack of documents.
