For the last few weeks I have been working with an advanced level WordPress coder who has created software to manage a book's metadata. You can watch the promotional video for it here. www.MyPublishingAssistant.com It's very complex and required 14MB of code.
Unfortunately, the coder got offered a full time job that he couldn't refuse. And although he is now working part time on it, we have agreed to bring in another high level coder to finish the core database plug-in and then work on the other adjunct plug-ins.
The core plug-in allows for copy and pasting from Ms Word, integration of ePub, mobi, html, pdf and doc creation engines and other complex features. Some of the final few issues involves altering the Mobi generator to create a mobi output that works with Kindle's uploader; getting the editor boxes to handle the paragraph style settings found within typical Word documents; and getting the PDF to have centering and indents when it is uploaded to Kindle. The current coder might be able to finish these things before he hands the project off, but this is the level of coding skill that this project requires.
The plug-ins that you will definitely be working with is; creating a simple Facebook plug-in that posts new book releases to an author's timeline; the same type of plug-in that allows the new release to be posted to a WordPress or Blogger post.
I will also need this website www.AlexAndersBooks.com to be automatically generated using the core plugin. It will need to be able to display previews of the books, sample audio from the audiobooks, and have a buy button that is turned on from the core plug-in. There are a few other things. But if you can do the above, then you can handle those as well.
To be considered for this job, you must send me code that will allow my current coder to evaluate your ability and style of coding. If you don't provide code, your bid will not be considered.
DO NOT APPLY if you have issues meeting your own deadlines. If you have issues meeting your own deadlines, we will have a very poor working relationship. I need to know that I can trust what you tell me.
DO NOT APPLY if you need an upfront fee. Internally, job boards all say that you should never hire someone you haven't worked with before if they require an upfront fee.
