I'm looking for a Java game programmer with good knowledge in Java 2D.
The game shall be a classic arcade game, very similar to the classic Thrust game.
It's a 2D space game where you fly with a spaceship through a cave.
But, you don't have to implement all the features of that game. The basic game framework is important thou.
It shall be a Java applet game.
I'm interested in getting a base platform in which I can develop the game further on and do extra programming myself.
Therefore, it's important with thourough documentation in the code with Javadoc. It must be written in well written and easy understandable english. Document as much as you can. Preferable, the documentation is so good that it could be used as a tutorial in Java programming.
It's a multiple sprites game, with a huge amount of sprites with parallell movements. It must have collision detection between the sprites and the game area.
The spaceship should be driven by both a back thrust fire and a thrust from below controlled by the up and down keys on the keyboard. The ship direction should be controlled by the left and right arrow keys.
The game area terrain should be vectorbased and it get its values from an array.
Some small standard PHP scripts for the serverside are required, for example for highscore storing. Therefore it's important that you know how to connect Java applets to PHP scripts. The PHP scripts must be able to be located on a Linux web server with Apache.
It's important that it's a Java applet on clientside and PHP on the serverside. No alternatives there.
I would prefer to get it as a Netbeans-project (NetBeans is free for download at: http://www.netbeans.org/ ).
The game code should at least be 95% bug free when I get it.
I will do the graphics design myself.
