I am creating a fullscreen interface to a local financial database. The database is stored in MySQL, and is highly typed. That database includes ~100,000 records, and I'd like to create a Java based multi-panel, and preferably multi-screen interface like the kind that is frequently referred to as the "Bloomberg" terminal. The Bloomberg terminal is the defacto standard for trading stocks and bonds by professional traders.
I'd like to create a similar themed interface, although significantly dumbed-down user interface, to my specific database and dataset. This application will start out with a couple small screens and interfaces, and will grow with time. The screens will contain small views of the data, which I will describe in much more detail, but are generally relating to simple numerical functions for which I can provide the math functions and formulas. I am a programmer myself, and can easily translate the formulas to Java with you.
The interfaces will contain some animation, so it will be useful if you have had some moderate to advanced Java game experience before this project.
