Highly experienced PHP/MySQL expert sought for a new social networking site: [www.facetag.com/index.php]. FaceTag.com is similar to facebook.com's site (but for high schools only), so that is a base example of what I seek to create. Currently, I have been developing facetag.com based on code copied from a previous project (BuddyTrain.com), and I have been trying to redesign and add features based off of the previous code. However, BuddyTrain.com is very slow and has less than 10,000 users, so there is a need to revamp the old code as well as add new features similar to facebook.com. I am seeking a talented developer who can improve the code, make it cleaner and well commented, more efficient, and add new features.
You MUST have experience with tuning websites for high traffic efficiency to improve performance. You must also have advanced experience with CSS, XHTML, and databases. FaceTag.com will also need added features including all functionality that is on FaceBook.com (email address imaging, highschool specific features, class schedule features, and an automatic addressbook import systems for hotmail, aol, yahoo, outlook). For all intensive purposes, bidders should estimate how much it would take to recreate the facebook.com site. Actual site specifics will be given later.
I am looking for a long-term relationship with a talented developer/development team to work on Facetag.com. The developer(s) must be able to communicate well and be accessible by messenger and voice chat. The work will entail communicating regularly, and pair programming with myself. The pay is competitive and will depend on your background and abilities. Live projects and code samples are required. If the work is great, there are opportunities for fulltime work on my other projects.
