I want to make a funny web site with **3 Major Features:**
Submit Funny Videos
Submit Funny Pictures
Submit Funny News Stories
Similar to <http://www.funnyjunk.com>
I _**will not**_ host videos on my site -- People will add funny videos from choice of 10-15 other popular video websites - will use embed codes - not video uploads.
Funny pictures. I **would** like to host the pictures on my site & eventually allow other sites to embed the pictures with a link back.
Funny headlines & news stories - Similar to <http://fark.com>...
**How the site will work:**
Script gets/creates thumbnails for each submitted video and picture submitted. Script will create new webpage with only that video or maybe will be played in an Iframe when activated by a link.
**Scrolling thumbnails:** Thumbnails of new videos/pictures to be added to a scrolling filmstrip type thing on the homepage - similar to a marquee only better. I have a few sites in mind to mimick as far as the scrolling filmstrip look.
**A rating system** 1-10 smilies rating system, with the funniest media moving to the top 10 spots on the frontpage of the site for the day (sort of like digg where most liked stuff gets elevated).
Newest videos added and most popular videos. A queue system like digg would be awesome...But not totally necessary.
**Archiving system**. I want a very neat and very SEO friendly archiving system for every day of submissions. Needs to be crawlable by robots and easy for me to look at on the server (maybe month/day names for folders)
I want want to have flexibility to add in new features later. Hoping to find a talented php/sql coder to make this site great.
Contact me if questions...I may show you a mock-up of what I want the homepage of my site to be like.
