Existing Plugin Needs Bug Fixes and Some Remodeling

Project Description:
This is an existing plugin that has been abandoned without bug fixes and updates only took place on one version.

The plugin works on wordpress sites and is designed to make use of the latest Facebook API to allow visitors of the site to click the Facebook button, enable the site owner to collect their email address and to then subsequently send Notifications of new content (or other urls) to the subscribers Facebook account.

There are two versions

Both versions do the following:

After users create a Facebook app, they add information to the plugin inside wordpress.
From inside the dashboard, they create a Facebook button using the various options that include choosing the text and size.
The user can choose their Autoresponder from either the drop down list - Aweber & Get Response, or add the full code for any other AR account.
Once the code is created, the shortcode is then used on the website to invite new subscribers to use this function.

The subscribers who opt to check the Facebook button are then automatically added to the plugins database and their email is sent to the Autoresponder account.

Inside the plugin, there is a feature for sending notifications. The plugin is set to send these over a period of time to avoid slowing the site down, however the user should be able to continue their work on site. A warning inside the plugin notifies users that the process may take some time.

The Base Version allows users to place the shortcode inside a sidebar widget

The Pro version allows users to place the shortcode anywhere on their site, on any post or page.

Information About The Tasks Ahead

The Pro Version was updated with helpful user links such as Video channel and Support desk
This needs to be updated inside the Base Version

The Pro Version had the functionality to add any autoresponder code inside the plugin
This needs to be updated inside the Base Version

The Pro Version has the ability to use the html code created, to add to any site that is not wordpress.
This function needs to be checked and tested to determine if it's worth keeping as a video instruction was never created by the original developer and if it's likely to cause any additional support issues, we will remove it.

The name of the developer who stopped supporting the plugin months ago, is to be removed and replaced in the new version and the name of the new versions modified. (details will follow)

A new version of both plugins is to be created using the working code found inside the current ones. So that when updates are sent to those who are given the new versions, they are actioned from within wordpress but do not affect the old versions.

Bugs found to be corrected

From within the plugins, there is to be a link to the Support Desk, Facebook Group, & FB App Centre

There are a number of varied bugs including that the developer did not complete all the updates and feature adds to both versions.

The options to choose your own Button text and thankyou message does not always work and is only added on the Pro version

The redirect after the Button is clicked, does not always work

There appear to be Browser conflicts

The Subscribers details are not always added to their Autoresponder even when the plugin shows this has happened

The notifications do not always work for the user - and are not always received by the subscriber

The notifications url opens inside a Frame inside FB on one version - it should open outside FB

Customization features need to be present in both versions

The Youtube video selection to be replaced with a simple link to a Youtube Channel set up with coaching videos (only exists in the pro version)

Once the updates and bug fixes are completed and tested, the project is completed.

A future project involving adding features to this plugin eg other social media connections - will be discussed for viability etc.
