Extend a WordPress Gallery Plugin

SmugWP is a WordPress plugin which is used to display images hosted on SmugMug in posts or pages on your blog. The latest version of the plugin is included here for your benefit. It was developed by Michael Mulligan on his site "Cover This Photography" at [login to view URL] and he does a great job keeping the plugin working with new versions of WordPress. Currently the plugin does a great job and allows the blog admin or writer to add images from various albums and then it will display the image thumbnail in the blog with full lightbox support. It also caches the images on the blog's web host in the interests of speeding things up. I love the plugin but I want extra features added. I blog mainly using a blog client on my computer (Windows Live Writer is the current flavour of the month) and I would like the plugin extended so that I can select a complete album from my SmugMug account in one simple command. I need the plugin to be extended so that I can add some code to the post to include the entire album as a single group (so that the lightbox magic shows next and previous links)even if I post from a desktop blog client. The code added needs to show the place where the gallery album should go and also support and confirm both the Gallery ID and the Key (the entire NNNNNNN_XXXXX string). The plugin's online interface would also need to be modified to include selecting an entire album at once when using the "Add Media" button. Finally the plugin should be made to add the captions from the original images hosted at the SmugMug site. It needs to be able to do all of this without affecting the original funtionality of the plugin. The plugin, once completed, will be made available free to any WordPress users who wish to use it. The developer who is selected for this job should also coordinate with Michael Mulligan to ensure that he is not planning any changes to the plugin that will affect the extensions. Payment for the project will be strictly via the escrow account and will only be paid on final delivery of a fully working product. Only experienced WordPress and PHP coders are encouraged to apply.
