I need a joomla component built for joomla 2.5 & 3.0 that can be used as a horse racing buster for clubs. Basically the back end admin will be able to create seasons (year) to be played, events (Race meetings), then create clubs/name of group, that can have members selected from the active users assigned to the club to play in that buster, with an option to select from fields of fee paid, not paid, deposit paid, these fields are admin created in extra field area or config submenu.
A buster is an event like Cheltenham/Galway/Listowel/ GrandNational races over a period of days that there is races on. This event may vary from 1 day to several days. Each of the races will have anything from 3 horses to 30 horses or more running in the race. Points are awarded for the positions that the horses are placed in eg: 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 5 points, 3rd place gets 3 points etc etc, also horses that have say odds of 15/1 to 20/1 and win get an extra 5 points, 21/1 to 29/1 get 8 points and 30/1 + get 10 points. The placing points and extra points given would be a variable inputted on the backend and would vary from event to event by the admin.
The races would have to show the event name, location, name of race, time of race, distance of race, horse name, horse number for that race, stall drawn, horse owner, horse trainer, previous form, jockey, jockey colours as small image and the odds of the horse all taken from [url removed, login to view] api (JSON not soap) ([url removed, login to view]) and inserted via sql/php to the database 2 minutes from race start or via a csv import feature. The admin will then manually insert which horse have been placed ( 1st, 2nd. 3rd 4th or 5th depending on how many runners there have been). and the points will automatically be assigned to the member etc depending on which horse they chose in that race.
The members from the front end upon registering can select which event and club they would like to join, query from table of upcoming events. Upon being accepted into that club and event they can select from the front end a single horse from each race for that day or days depending on how many days the event runs for. If they do not select any horses online for any reason the admin can make a selection from the back end for them or by default they get the horse that is favourite (lowest odds). Online selections or admin selection can be made just until the race is timed to start then the default selection is made for them by the system.
Other members of that event cannot see the selection of the other members until the following day, by using module's display of points/results and drill into name to see horse selections by race and day, an overview so to say. If more than one club is playing in the same event the total points of all members is shown and drill in for members points not their horse selections. Horse selections can only be seen by members of the same club when that events day of racing has finished. Points are added up for each member per race if they got any for the event to give a grand total per day and overall total for the event in both the back end and front end.
More info about the tables and layout etc can be given to the sucessful bidder and would suit someone who has a knowledge of horse racing would have a better understanding of what is required. Several other front end views are requied, these are just summary info pulled from the tables in the database.
This is only the first of many similar projects to be done. Of course as you are the developer I would always take your advice on what would be the best approach for the project.
The budget would be paid in installements as the project progresses by work done.
