User Interface for web application

Project description: We are looking for a user interface (UI) professional who can help us develop the front end for a reporting application. The application is to be a thin javascript client that is html5 and css3 compliant and leverages jqueryui. The front-end then communicates with the server, through php, and is modeled in a MVC pattern. The application should function equallly across all browsers and platforms (ie/chrome/safari/etc and pc/ipad/android). In this first phase (phase 1 of of 3 total phases) we would like to have the framework and templates developed so that we can continue buiilding the back-end. At this point we just want to develop a proof-of-concept in test mode. We will post two subsequent projects in the future to help us with the final testing and optimization (Phase 2) and move to porduction (Phase 3) of the papplication. We have sketched some ideas for the functionality of the front-end which we would still like the contractor to review, challenege and improve upon. We encourage the contractor to suggest design ideas to improve the overall usability and user experience of the application. Application Specs: * The development technologies for the UI is Javascript, jquery and jqueryui and possibly AJAX. * The application content will require html5 compliant tables and 'highcharts' graphs. You will determine what is the best plugin solution to use for the tables, or develop a javascript table object altogether. * The application requires the use of a tree to load user files from the server. It also needs to interface with the user's mail and print servers. * The UI communicates with the server via php. While we don't need back-office php development at this point you will need to write php controllers with hard coded data to demonstrate that the UI works. We can provide you with the content if needed. Contractor Requirements: * You must be an expert in jqueryui to develop the framework as well as developing the widgets within the framework. This will probably require the use of plugins that will support the functionality requirements. * You need to demonstrate that you have done similar projects in the past, providing us with examples. * Special consideration will be given to a contractor to has demonstrated ability to help us with all three phases, not just the development of the proof of concept. Like this we will be developing other applications in the future and we would like to structure a long term working relationship with a partner. Project Deliverables: 1. A review with re-design recommendations of the UI mockup (we will provide you with this). 2. A description of the specific pluggins and other tools that you will require to build the widgets and overall ui framework. 3. A well functioning and stable application, deployable across all common platforms, that meets all functional specs outlined in the UI mockup document. 4. Clearly documented code for all the framework and widgets components so that we can quickly build the back-end on our side and bring the project to the next phase. Project Timeline: * We anticipate that the project should take between 4-6 weeks. * Steps: TIMELINE PAYMENT 1. Review of ui mockup, with proposed changes and recommendations. 1 week 10% of bid price 2. Development of framework and widgets - first pass. 2-3 weeks 40% of bid price 3.
