We are an alarm company, how an alarm company works is that, based on an event (fire, theft , burglary ) triggered by the alarm panel located at a premise triggers an alarm. The alarm panel sends a notification to our monitoring station via IP, TELEPHONE or GPRS. The information is sent in ADEMCO CONTACT ID format. for .eg 00 0124 678 this means (not very precise) 0124 is the account number and 678 is the type of alarm received. This information is decoded in an alarm receiver. ( for e.g. surgard) http://www.dsc.com/index.php?n=products&o=view&id=147.
This decoded contact id is matched against a database of user. 0124 might be mr xyz and his information is pulled. ASTERISK has a built in virtual receiver that can receive the contact ID and initiate a script. We already have an asterisk system deployed in our facility.
