I'm needing a few things done on my site to spruce it up a little bit. The site is JoshuaTrent.com
#1 - I need a custom post type made for my gardening section called "plants". I know how to create page templates but not posts. Right now I have to cheat and manually insert these section boxes but I know there has to be an easier way. Here's a sample of what I'm looking for - http://joshuatrent.com/gardening/garden-herbs/parsley
#2 - If at all possible, I would like to have a section menu similar to this http://www.marthastewart.com/food. As you can see, my section page doesn't look this nice and the menu needs help - http://joshuatrent.com/food-cooking. My orange color scheme is just seasonal so I need something neutral instead of the green like on MS site.
#3 - Something else from the Martha Stewart page I like are the "Find the Perfect Recipe" and "Everyday Food Blog" boxes with link inside to redirect. I try to do the same thing on my site but it's just a picture. Is there a way to embed these little global boxes on section pages?
#4 - My Login and Register menu needs help. I don't know how to make it "float" in that position, so right now it's set to absolute, I would like that to "float" instead so that its in the same position no matter what screen resolution, just like the regular menu box. I also don't know if I coded this menu correctly because there's another menu it changes to once a person is logged in. It seems like I might have messed something up when I did that???
#5 - I'm trying to decide between two recipe plugins, neither of which I'm liking. The EasyRecipe plugin seems to have a lot of bugs and I've been told people can no longer see my recipes on some browsers. The ReciPress plugin I like a lot better but it doesn't have a print function. If you can fix either of these plugins I'll be happy with one of them.
#6 - According to Google Analytics, my site runs very slowly. I need you to tweak it or suggest something I need to do to make it run faster.
#7 - Perform a general compatibility test and make sure the site is clean of bugs and anything else that might make it mess up.
That's all I can think of right now, I know it sounds like a lot but I don't think it should take up too much time.
