Project Description:
Hello CKeditor is a javascript based editor that you can use to make WYSIWYG editor on your website.

I am able to use CKeditor and post the data in the textarea using a form submit action and save it to the data base

I looked at the Ckeditor demos and there is one demo I want to put on my website called

"Replace DIV with CKEditor on the Fly" You can check it out here:

http://nightly.ckeditor.com/7396/_samples/

This is really nice. It gives you the code if you want to try it.

It uses javascript to replace a <div> with Ckeditor.

Not using forms at all ! Which is really amazing.

The only problem is you need the form for the text area so that you can submit the data to a php script so that I can store the text in the database.

This means I need to find another way to get the data from the editor and be able to post it to the php script.

I looked in the documentation and it looks as though I need a new save button that uses the get.data() function from the api.

You can see it here.

http://docs.cksource.com/ckeditor_api/symbols/CKEDITOR.editor.html#getData

I will need a new button on the editor that grabs all the content and posts it to result.php.

If there is an easier way of doing this please let me know.

Also I need to be able to do this kind of thing myself in the future so I will only give the project to someone who can explain to me how this thing works very clearly.

Many thanks

I have done a little reading about making plugins for CKeditor - You will need to create a folder inside the 'plugins' folder and call is newsave and inside the folder create a file called plugin.js there you put the javascript logic for the function. Also inside the folder you put another new folder called 'images' where you put the icon for the newsave plugin/function.
Then you need to register the plugin in the config.js file with one line of code, and then initiate it in the actual file that has the editor.

I am new to this but as far as I can see this is how it is normally done.
