Project Description:
I registered the domain LocalDogParks.org
I want to use Joomla or JomSocial to create a non-profit site where people can find (or add) Dog Parks.
I like JomSocial, it has everything I want for my users except the Park finder.
The park finder I want searchable by distance from zip code, or browse a text link directory by state, city.
I want a Google map atop the results with markers for each result that are linked to the Park's (profile) page.
For the Dog Park (profile) pages I need the following:
* Name, Address, Directions, Map, Description, and Primary Photo
* Park user ratings
* Park discussion forum
* Park photo galleries with albums, and user comments
* Park Friends (allow users to join as friends of the park)
Any member may add new dog parks.. the address may be a normal address, or GPS coordinates.
Only Park Members may update the Park Name, description, location, use the discussion form, and create photo albums and galleries.
Last but not least, I want the Dog Park Finder prominently on the main page.. with the search by distance form zip code, and the text links for browsing by state and city.
And that's all for now... As mentioned, this will be a FREE NON-PROFIT SITE.. Right now it's just a stupid idea, but if I can get this done affordable, I want to make it a reality.
Additionaly, I have never used Joomla or JomSocial. They look like they will work well for this project, but I am open to other suggestions and ideas to help produce this site in the most cost effective manner, meaning as cheaply as possible because I will pay for it myself and not make any money from it.
This should be a simple affordable project, but if it's not I will just cancel the project and forget about it. The is not something I need, it's just something I thought would be cool...
