Project Description:
I am looking for someone to create a terminal based spectrum analyzer for DVB-S/S2 frequencies, via an external or internal DVB-S/S2 module. I dont want to watch channels, what I want to be able to do is remotely check the signal quality and strength of the full range of frequencies that a module is connected to. This should be able to work with all generic linux enable DVB-S/S2 devices. There are two types of output I need to have. One is to direct the output to a web page so that I can remotely refresh and update the spectrum image. Second, I want to be able to check the spectrum from command line via a ssh session. Once this is completed and verified that it works, then the plan is to add features like monitoring signal ranges, and being able to send alerts if the signal drops below a certain decible range. The analyzer output should have selectable ranges for output, i.e. full, 1200Mhz, 600Mhz, 300Mhz, and 100Mhz, the reason for this is to isolate the detail level of the specific frequency rage. There should be control within the application to activate the 22Mhz tone and control polarization i.e. 13/18v and DisEqC Control. The application should keep a history of tested satellites and frequencies, as well as accept new entries. A "lock" indicator must also be indicated when a signal is locked on. There should also be an option to "scan" transponder, so that we can identify the programs that are on the current frequency that is locked. You must know about satellites to make an application like this. Please don't waste my time if you have never used a DVB-S module before. Ideally what needs to be created is something like this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2012-free-shipping-HD-mpeg4-DVB-S2-satellite-finder-HD-Spectrum-Analyzer-satlink-Satellite-Finder-Meter/642578298.html but in software. I have confirmed that this device is just a linux application with a dvb-s/s2 module connected to it. Please respond to this posting with, the total of four plus four. Then your bid will be considered. I can give you remote access to a USB DVB-S/S2 module so that you can test and build it on my machine.
