We are looking at doing a pricing website for travel. The user is able to compare and share the cost of travel they have found with the cost of travel others have found or paid. This will be aimed at users of websites such as priceline. So for example, people who use priceline find a certain price for a certain hotel in a certain city. Once they find the price they would come to our site and input the information they have found (what hotel they got for what price and for what travel dates). Other users would be able to search through the website for find what prices others received and what hotel they got (since priceline doesn't disclose the actual hotel until after you buy). Once other people buy their hotel from priceline, then they would have the ability to come back to our site and input their information (what hotel they got, the price they paid, the date of their travel). Users will be able to interact in a social network to discuss their travel experiences and prices. A similar website for rental homes was done at www.rentometer.com. We'd like a simple interface and simple results page. The functionality would include graphing of pricing and trends, mapping of the hotels (Google Maps API), and details about their travel (hotel, star rating, travel dates, price they paid) and provide visitors to the site with the ability to 1) search the pricing others have found and 2) upload their own pricing information. The users will have a social network experience where they can add pictures, descriptions, create friendships and have direct url. We would like the site done in a Web 2.0 style design with Ajax elements. This is a content management system (CMS) requiring a backoffice where the administrator can add/delete/edit products such as airline and hotel chains and administer the users. Design is very important to us so if you cannot develop sites such as Kayak, Farecast, Mobissimo, Farecompare please let us know beforehand. Allan skype: allanscu
