I am new to linux and web development and would like your help building the most simple possible PayPal Subscription Paywall for a simple website.
I first tried a PHP IPN listener to write to a SQL database, but Paypal says to not rely on it for real time performance.
I already have free users
I want them to have the ability to upgrade to paid subscription
I want to hear back from Paypal in real time that the payment was made, by whom (my user's user id), and what type of subscription
and then record that information in a database
in as real time as possible.
and then have the PHP/apache run a BASH script.sh that says, 'hey we made some changes to the database, check out "$varible-user-name", and perform some action"
am I using PHP? Classic API? Adaptive API? IPN?
I will release half of the funds upon receipt of the work and the remaining half when I am able to duplicate your work and execute a simple paypal subscription script on my own, on AWS on Ubuntu 12.04, using the commands or scripts and documentation you provide. the documentation is the important part here, while I do want it to work, it is for my leaning and will not be deployed to a commercial site.
