Data Base/Admin Control Panel/Web Portal Design Tasks to be Completed for NCBRHC Research and Archival Database

1. Design and set up information fields in the data base, including size consisting of the following:
• Title of Research
• Author of Research
• 6 Academic Colleges/Schools
• 12 Centers of Excellence
• Original Publication Date
• TURAD# (For Certified Publications)
• Publication Type
• A) Abstracts
• B) Book Chapters
• C) Conference Papers
• D) Dissertations
• E) Peer Reviewed Journals
• F) Proceedings
• G) Professional Papers
• H) Proposals Submitted for Funding
• I ) Thesis

2. Design and set up basic search parameters
3. Design and set up advance search parameters.
4. Design and setup access to the data base
5. Create the registration to gain access
A. Review search fields
B. Add additional search fields if necessary
C. Install database on to clients server





Administrative Control Panel
The NCBRHC admin will be able to add new documents to the database. In order to add a document, the admin will be presented with a form with the following fields:
1. Title of Research
2. Author/Author’s Name
3. 6 Academic Colleges/Schools
4. 12 Centers of Excellence
5. Original Publication Date
6. TURAD # for TU Certified Publications
7. Publication Type (checkmark all that apply)
a. Abstracts
b. Book Chapters
c. Conference Papers
d. Dissertations
e. Peer Review Journals
f. Proceedings
g. Professional Papers
h. Proposals Submitted for Funding
i. Thesis
8. Peer-reviewed?
9. Descriptors (tags, comma separated)
10. Abstract
11. Source
12. Number of Pages
13. Language
14. ISBN
15. ISSN
16. Education Level
17. Upload Document
18. Access Level
a. Public
b. Private

The system will automatically determine the type of the document based on the file type that is uploaded for example PDF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, or HTML.
Access level can be chosen for each document. Public documents will be available for all to view. Private documents will require a valid account and will require that the user be logged into the system.
The NCBRHC admin will be able to edit any document, delete a document, search the documents, and browse/list them all.

USERS
The NCBRHC admin will be able to view all registered users.

FRONT-END: Search Results

BASIC SEARCH
The user will be able to search using the following search parameters (can be changed later):
• Keyword:
• Search in: Title, Descriptors, Author, Gender, Major, Race, TURAD #, etc


ADVANCED SEARCH/ Narrow My SEARCH
