o make sure only serious developers can bid for this job, there is a work-code in the description below. You must give the work code in your PM response or I will not consider you.
We are looking for a developer and shopping cart expert that can write small import and export scripts/API that will enable us import products feeds from merchant websites using shopping carts like Magento, Bigcommerce, oscommerce, opencart and virtuemart.
The goal of the script is to export product feeds in XML or CSV format that is gzipped from merchant websites using these different carts and import them the feeds in gzip into a destination folder on our server..
The developer may have to build separate import and export APIs for each cart that will export their data into our required format. All scripts will be controlled with one admin panel that will be integrated into our sites CMS later.
The Export API will be dropped into the shopping cart's owners server. We will pre-specify the FIELDS we want in the product feed.
We do not want the shopping cart owner to do much work except drop the export API in their server and input their database access information.
We will then call the export API on the client side from our server and export starts. This project work-code is: Goodwork. The product feed is generated on the client server and gzipped the gzipped file will then be exported to a folder pre-assigned for that clients feed on our server. New feeds replace older one. The process completes with the gz file saved to the folder. THAT IS IT.
To administrate this the import API on our server, we need a simple admin interface. In this admin interface will choose merchant from active merchant on our db, then choose the Shopping cart (Magento, Bigcommerce, oscommerce, opencart and virtuemart), The carts whose scripts are available will appear in drop down and we choose and add the link to the Export API on the client server. We will also specify in which folder /path/ we want that merchant feed to be imported into and save these settings.
We can run this import script on our server manually or crojob (auto) for individual shop or as a group. Our export script on client machine can return live data from merchants so that whenever we call that data for import, we get up-to-date products information.
IMPORTANT: the script has to be light and efficient and not cause memory issues both on the client server side and our side.
Please if you can do this work, in your PM response, tell us how you plan to do this.
