Project Description:
The purpose of this document is to provide the software requirement specification report for the automatic bidding system (ABS) for Yahoo Japan auctions (YJA)

ABS - automatic bidding system
DB - data base
API - Yahoo API (
Proxy - proxy server to masquerade server IP address
YJA - Yahoo Japan Auctions (
YBA - Yahoo Buying Account
Snipering - a situation when we should join the auction in several seconds before auction ends.

The purpose of the ABS is to create convenient and easy-to-use customer desk for automatic bidding. This system will use one Yahoo Buying Account (YBA) to purchase items on behalf of others, that are outside of Japan.

Japanese sellers on YJA are not as accepting of shipping items outside the Japan, as many of the buyers present a risk in communication and purchase security. Our service should help to bridge the gap between Japanese sellers on YJA and the buyers from all the world.

Users register with ABS, much like how is for eBay. However, users do not need YBA, they only need to have account in our system. After the users have successfully registered, entered some limitations and the auction URL or item ID, ABS will join to the auction to purchase the item.

The set of limitations are max bid amount (the condition for leaving the auction), bid increase amount (in currency/percent) and optionally the quick-buy price.
