Hi, I have an industrial painting business. I need a data base to help manage work through our business. It needs to do the following
1.meet ISO9001 quality requirements.
2. Enter customer and job details and job information.
3. Create job sheets which include areas for safety risk analysis, blasting specification details, coating specification details, an inspection and test plan built in as required and quality assurance details as per AS3894. I need the job sheets to expand and collapse depending on the amount of information input. We currently complete around 200 jobs per week that can be made up from one component or as many as 200 components per job.
4. We need a method of recording all work in the business and ability to plan production for the following tasks. Pre blast, blast, prime coat, intermediate coat, topcoat, post paint, QA I prefer a gant chart for planning based on estimated hours and number of men and a method of recording actual time taken which can be taken automatically from a TMS system that is installed in the business by way of touch screens and Mobile phone apps.
We plan to use the system over a number of sites and work from one server. I have had a young uni student working on this for a few months using Microsoft access but he has thrown in the towel as he is lost with bugs. The program is basically there with the look, layout and overall structure in place. Option one is to take the existing Access database and debug and make useable then design a stable program that will provide the right solution for our business. Option two is start from scratch I expect that the person who can work with us on the above will have a longer term involvement with our programming needs.
