I? have a site (<http://www.horseconscious.com/>) that uses WP for CMS purposes rather than as a straight blog. The site also uses Amember for it's paid membership content.
I want to add social networking capability seamlessly within the site and the current (and? future within reason) WP theme design. By seamlessly, I mean no separate windows, pop-ups etc. It has to be just another part? of the site for the user. Design-wise, I'm looking for a clean, modern, tidy look. SocialEngine is a good example of this.
I want the following social networking functionality for sure:
The following would be nice but not essential:
Please note, that I? do not want any advertising, not even Adsense.
I've looked at various social networking scripts and am aware there any number of other scripts, both open source and commercial, out there. I therefore want? to get your view on which to use and why. The cost of the any software is clearly a consideration.
The forum on the site is members only to post to and? I'm currently using the WP plugin SimpleForum but it's slow so I've been considering switching to phpBB. However, if the social networking software you suggest has a forum, then I would consider that too.? However this depends on the following.
Please quote separately for integration with Amember. This way,? I can decide whether to restrict the social networking functions to members only or make it open to all visitors.
I currently use the Dreamshost's Private Server service for? hosting but am not averse to changing if required.?
Please note that I would like? from you the following as part of your bid:
* Your suggestions as to what software you propose we should use and why
*? Examples of sites and references for other such/similar projects you have done
* Your accurate assessment of how long the project will take.
* The split of cost between your work, Amember integration and any software cost
Please do not enter just a bid figure as this does not help me make a decision.
Thank you for your consideration and interest.
As mentioned before, the site currently runs very slow with SimpleForum and even though this is being changed, it is imperative that the functionality added by this project does not produce a slow working site either.
