Project Description:
This will be a painfully simple project, and I'm almost embarrassed to post it.
I have an existing HTML, very basic website that requires the existing Image / Photo Gallery to be improved. Currently it is just tables in HTML and requires an FTP program and HTML editor to modify. I need something web based for uploading with an admin back end to make my life easier. Something like the galleries on the Facebook.
I am thinking PHP or Ajax based source, but I am also open to any suggestions. I am happy to look at open source and other products including Jalbum etc. The major factor is how well it will integrate with the look and feel of the existing website which is really simple black background, white, green and grey text.
1. The gallery must be simple to upload to (web based with some sort of admin back-end. No FTP based galleries please)
2. The gallery must fit inside existing site design and frame size
3. The gallery will need sub-albums
4. There will be a need for a description under each image, that must also be able to be modified through a web based panel.
5. The gallery must be quick to load, and ideally be able to be viewed on an iphone
6. There is no need for comments, ranking, voting, etc. functions in the gallery.
I like the look and feel of the gallery on this page: http://www.thecreamstudios.com/docs/about_us/gallery.shtml as it is simple to navigate and use. It might even be too fancy for my site.
