Need a Wordpress guru to do some maintenance on our 6 week old Wordpress site. Ongoing work available for freelancers who are price competitive and respect deadlines. Here are the task outlines: 1. Optimize robots.txt - We have several pages in Google’s index that should not be there(plugins, etc) We also have duplicate content, based on the WP structure. We are using KB Robots plugin and XML Sitemap generator 2. Advise on use of KB Robots plugin with XML sitemap generator plugin, which states ”Add sitemap URL to the virtual robots.txt file. The virtual robots.txt generated by WordPress is used. A real robots.txt file must NOT exist in the blog directory!” 3. Check and resolve any 404 errors for the past month. We’ve been getting about 5 per day, mostly from bots and possibly related to the above. We will provide a list as a Microsoft Outlook archive 4. Diagnose and provide suggestions for our Google Analytics tracking code implementation. We are using the Yoast Analytics plugin. Using a 3rd party tool, we received a report that 40% of our pages had errors with the tracking code. We will provide the Excel file. We need to know if there are really problems or if this is BS to get us to try their optimization services. 5. Install and help us configure Lifestream plugin. We had some problems when we tried to install ourselves. 6. Customize theme sidebar. Our site uses the Arthemia theme. We want to be able to add widgets either above OR below the category spoilers in Arthemia. |
