I require a php upload routine/script to be developed to perform an upload of asset data into an existing php based asset management system.
Here is a process flow which may assist in outlining the requirement.
1 - User inputs asset data they wish to update into a csv template (I will supply this).
2 - User visits a php form where they are invited to select the file they wish to upload.
3 - User selects the file they wish to upload and clicks the upload now button on the form.
4 - The form validates the csv file to ensure it contains the mandatory information needed to upload into the database. If the validation passes it will continue. If not, it will advise and stop.
5 - The script will then look into the database for the csv line item matching unique id. If a match is found, then the form will update the database table based on the information from the CSV file. If a match is not found, then a new database record will be created and all infomation from the csv will be entered into the database.
6 - The script will log the date/time of upload and user details of the person who performed the upload.
7 - The script will finish and summurise the number of records updated and the number of new records as well as the number of records not updated.
