I am looking to convert an MS Access database we are currently using to a cloud based solution. It is a fairly simple inventory database. I currently have it running on a server with a dozen or so users.
I'd like to be able to have them log in to a website based interface, then be able to enter the data and print a label off a local machine. It does this already locally, but it is running through access forms.
I'd like to retain all other functionality, such as data output, reporting, and some batch processesing capabilities.
I have some small variations running of this database in some of the different locations that I'd also like to integrate into a whole package. Right now I'm running three different databases that are built on the same core. As an example I have one version where I capture a picture of the product being entered by a webcam, and this picture stores in the database as a small .jpg. This same version pulls up a picture of a representational product when someone chooses a category.
I'm more than happy to take someone through the current database, and some unique functions and discuss what we would need to do to address any architectural & interface issues, as there are a few areas that need to be thought out architecturally before we build the online version .
The conversion to SQL is simple, but what I need in this case is someone to be able to look at the whole project as it stands, then give me some ideas of what would run best, for many users.
