I have a medium scale business challenge.
Lets say I have an online electronics shop. I have 50-100 deliveries per day. Some of the customers have specified a specific delivery slot like 1-2PM , but some orders are open orders e.g. delivery anytime between 8AM - 10 PM. I need a program written in matlab / C++ / Java / Browser which takes as input the following:
a. Postcode, time slot and order id
b. Maximum number of deliveries that can be done by a truck in one go. (static variable)
c. takes estimated time for delivery after reaching a delivery point to one place as a static variable ( car parking, ringing bell, delivering).
d. maximum number of trucks that I have.
e. my store location (start postcode).
and plans the routes for deliveries using google maps api:
a. the minimum number of truck deliveries that I have to do , so every truck deliveries maximum number of groceries per delivery.
b. delivery start time
c. delivery end time
d. total distance and total time for each route.
Other Conditions:
- All orders must be delivered.
- Order with time slots needs to be delivered within that time slot.
- The truck must return to original postcode for refill. Refilling takes time (a static variable).
- If solution not possible with the given number of trucks, then highlight.
- actual distance and travel time between 2 points to be calculated using google maps api.
