Adapt a current PHP-Curl package to print Canada Post shipping labels via PayPal Shipping based on orders placed on a Volusion e-commerce website.
I currently operate a retail Volusion e-commerce website. I use PayPal Merchant Services as my credit card processor. Orders processed via PayPal are eligible to use PayPal's shipping label/postage system which is integrated with Canada Post. There are other Canada Post-integrated platforms out there, but PayPal enjoys a SIGNIFICANT (much better than even commercial accounts) volume discount on Canada Post shipping fees which are passed to me.
Furthermore, PayPal offers Canada Post Light Packet Air service electronically, whereas this is not a postal product that Canada Post offers electronically anywhere else; you must go to a post office in person. I believe that this is due to the sheer volume of business that PayPal brings to Canada Post via eBay sales.
The issue is that in order to use the PayPal shipping system, I must manually enter each order in PayPal, click "Ship Now", and run through three different web pages specifying what type of Canada Post product I want, customs information, insurance values, final payment source, etc. This is time-consuming when I have many orders per day to process.
I would like a Volusion-specific solution to grab order details from my Volusion administrative interface for a specific order, log into PayPal, run through the shipping label process for that particular order, and return me a shipping label either in PDF format or directly to a printable webpage.
I must be able to specify (perhaps just grabbing the shipping type from the Volusion order) which Canada Post shipping method I want (XpressPost, Light Packet, Expedited USA etc.). The solution must also pass the shipping address from Volusion to PayPal in addition to all the normal details for purchasing postage such as length, width, height, weight, customs information, basically everything the PayPal system needs to print a label. I state this specifically because Volusion doesn't always pass through the correct shipping address during the payment process.
The successful bidder should be familiar with Volusion platforms such that the final solution results in a perhaps a "ship now" button on each Volusion order page.
NOTE: An entrepreneurial individual already built this solution using PHP-Curl for an osCommerce website. It was built a number of years ago, and may not still work. It does, however, provide an excellent blueprint for my particular needs. I have been in contact with this person and have permission to use the module for my own needs if it can be successfully ported to Volusion. They do not have time to work on it for me, even for a fee. The current package can be found here for an example of what I want: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6934
