We have an application that uses TCPIP/UDP on the Client software to talk to the Server software. We sometimes need to put a demo copy on to a laptop; so the client and server are on the same machine. On Win 2000 we just set up TCPIP protocol on the internal network card and it works (same on XP Home). But on XP Professional, if the laptop is not connected to a network, the protocol is stopped, until the card is plugged back in to the network. Can we set up a loopback or is the card itself inactive. Help !!
