PHP/MySQL/AJAX Developer to take an active role in developing open source forum software. Currently iEntry sponsors the XMB forum software ([login to view URL]) which is in need of a facelift. iEntry needs a developer willing to take this software to the next level with more modern features, enhanced security and compatibility with older installs of the software (ie. an upgrade path). There is an active community surrounding XMB including modders and skinners. The ideal developer would have the following skills: 1). Strong PHP/MySQL skills (including knowledge of performance (ie SQL queries) and optimization) 2). Strong javascript/AJAX skills 3). Strong knowledge of secure programming and best practices 4). Good personal skills -- this project is a team effort and this person, while being payed, would have to be part of the XMB team. 5). Good management skills in the event that a lead role in development is taken. Job functions would/may include: 1). Stabilizing current code base in preparation for a new code base (ie. version 2.0) 2). Developing new features 3). Optimizing current/future code 4). Documenting code/processes 5). Developing import routines to import forums from other software packages (PHPBB, VBulletin etc...)
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
