Hi, I guess that I am just past being a New-Bee but not by much. I program, off and on, as a hobby but it has been several months since I played around with VB. Want I want to do is get my program converted from VB6 to .Net. This program was originally designed for the batch processing and importation of files into another program. After the first few rounds of improvements, I stopped doing it as a sideline job at work and brought it home; simply added user requested features and polished it just to exercise my chops. This program has four forms that I put together and wrote the code for and one module with 5 line in it, as well as one modules and one class that I downloaded from Planet Course Code, where I saw the ad for RentaCoder. I added this module and class with little customization. In order to get an idea of the size of my program, I copied the code into a word processor. The main form's code occupies 36 pages. A second form was 11 pages. A third has 4 and the forth occupied 3 more pages. Finally, the downloaded module and class each have 2 pages. I want to get back into my little project and perhaps pay my 17 year old son to carry on with it this summer so that he can learn more about programming. I tried to upgrade it myself but the automatic routine didn't work for me. I don't know if you would have to just change a few key lines, run it through your own powerful auto upgrade program or re-write it from scratch but I hope that this will not require a major undertaking. I'm pretty sure that you will need more detailed information if you are interested and I stand ready to provide it but please give me an initial ball park idea of what is involved. Thank you, Asa Herring
I just want to get it working.
