We're looking for a custom template layout done for a new website. Attached in the offer is a rough sketch. Please don't laugh at my insanely good paint skills.
We have a logo/header for the website as well as the website's structure (index.php, header.php, footer.php, etc). You need to build a nice looking layout for it since we're terrible at doing that part. It mostly involves css and basic html, as well as designing a few things like content boxes and link placeholders.
The website's feel should be somewhat like espn.com in terms of colours. Note that I said it should feel like it, not a clone. The colours aren't set in stone though, you need to pick a colour set that fits with our logo and looks good. Graphic quality is important for this website so small details are appreciated (ie espn's fading shadows around the website's edges)
So, in short, here are things needed:
- 1000px wide layout designed approximately like layout.jpg
- Drop down menu like on finalfantasynetwork.com (except better looking and needs to have an arrow or something when it's a drop down menu so it's clear you can hover your mouse over it and see more options)
- You need to make a custom content section.
I'll give you a list of section titles as well as page titles. For example, you'll make "news_box.php" which I can include wherever necessary. I don't need you to code the news, but the layout.
I mean, we'll add the content, you just create the box. Same for, say, "articles_box.php" or "latest_forum_posts_box.php". You build the container and we'll fill it. You only need to make one and give us the source file (ie .psd) with the font used so we can make the other ones.
Once that's done, you need to create a sample subpage since it'll be slightly different than the main page. For example say on the main page someone clicks on an article, the articles page will load and be slightly different from the main page. Just add <h1> and stuff like that. Again, you only need to make one page and we'll do the others based on that one. So, it needs to be easily portable.
- Last thing, we'd like you to add a dynamic menu like you can see on espn.com (news, rumor central, fantasy, On ESPN TV). Again you don't have to code it, just add it as a placeholder so we can copy it wherever and modify it.
I think that covers it. Since the website's structure is already there and it only needs a layout, the project should be fairly quick for experienced designers. We expect a relatively quick turnaround since it's a pretty small project.
Bidders please post a sample of your best looking website design.
If you have questions post it on the board.
