Only read this if you know Drupal very well.
I have a relatively large Drupal based community website, running on version 6.24
I have had some problems recently on the admin side. Such as blocks losing settings when updating drupal versions, and slow performance issues.
I want to:
1. Upgrade to Drupal 7.
2. Re-theme the site to a more efficient, clean and fast loading style, which will include css styling from scratch. This won't be a case of using a pre made drupal theme template and that's it. A drupal approved theme may be used as a base, (such as Zen theme of Fusion based theme) but ultimately the theme will be customised to suit my criteria.
I use quite a few drupal modules, and perhaps some are not ready in Drupal 7 yet, such as DrupalVB module. But i've heard that this can be currently patched for drupal 7.
The new website work should be done on another url. I have a VPS, so I want the current website to be transferred in it's entirety across to the new domain / new account. This way you can work on the site and test without any site visitor seeing it. The robots / htaccess file should prevent search engines from accessing and crawling the test site/url to avoid duplicate content issues.
There would be further work to do on the site in the long term if the developer does a good job.
