Project Description:
I would like to have a facebook style website where folk with the correct qualification can sign up to having a page online which they can edit themselves to a certain extent. They should be able to add photographs – write descriptions of themselves and be able to add link and upload some files. I want the people who sign up to be searchable – ie they will all be marine mammal biologists and so if someone wants to find a person who studied humpbacks for example they can search for them. I guess I would need a database for this.
The site will also contain details of other things besides personal profiles – for example whale watching companies, organisations etc. – like an information directory. Again I would like people to be able to add information and write reviews for each organisation (best be moderated). Something like wiki software I guess
I would like a nice clean logo and a simple design – I have ideas already.
At some point I would like to add a facility for online training modules (maybe quote separately for that )
I would also like an online shop as part of this website
