We need to build a charity website that will need several functions, there are three types of user, business, normal user, charity,
The User will need to be able to:
-Donate (Via a payment gateway, and attribute it to a charity, with invoicing functions to make our accounting easier taking into account, the fees attributable to chare the charity)
-List projects (Take a look at kickstarter.com and facebook.com (specifically the pages feature and the newsfeed user control panel feature), the user will need to be able to list projects in a similar fashion, with details etc.)
- follow users/businesses/charities
-comment on charity projects etc.
-Each user will have its own profile page, with details of charities they follow/ projects they have donated to, a profile picture
- on the user control panel they will have a feed that shows the live updates of the projects they donate to, users/projects they they follow,
The business user will need to be able to:
Do exactly the same as the normal user, but will have the option to pay a nominal fee for advertising of their business in our list of recommended/ranked businesses.
They cannot follow users, but can be linked to a users page as an admin,
The charity user will need to be able to:
Choose from a list of projects users have submitted and agree to support them or not.
Raise funds to allocate to projects visibly (so that the users can see where their money goes)
Update project pages to show ongoing information in a timeline format
List their own projects
Have a bar that shows how much they have raised through us as a running total each month and then shows them the remaining funds
Message users and businesses that follow to give updates or request volunteers (if the user opts in to volunteering)
if you take a look at kickstarter.com similar to this we need users to be able to create projects, The home page on facebook.com shows what we are looking for in the section of the newsfeed, where we see details of projects/ followed charities and businesses.
