Gaming webite is need need of a chat program to facilitate our game and a database for character storage for two separate types of games.
Chat program: A basic web based chat program with the ability for selective users to create more chat rooms on demand. The players will have the ability to log into the chat as their initial login that they use to register to the site under. Then, the players also have the ability to log in to the chat as their characters in the database, which will be explained below. Preferably created with the ability for administrative users to boot players, ban players, use the system "room voice," color text change, ghost, send private message and the ability to move from one room to another without logging out. Likewise, this chat program needs a random dice roller that allows a respective chat user to input the number of dice and type of dice to be rolled. Further, if an additional field for the dice roller could be created that would add an additional number after the roll and totals it, that would be wonderful.
Example: If the first field is completed with a 2 and the second with a 6, the random number selector will effectively roll two six sided dice. A third field, with an optional fill, could then be added with an additional number. So, to use the example above, if the third field was filled with a 3, the following process would occur: two six sided dice would be roll and then the total would have three added to it.
Finally, for the chat, we need it linked to the character database in that every time the player logs in, it is registered under the database.
For examples, please refer to the following sites: http://d20.digitaldreaming.org/node (go to dreamchat) and http://www.digitaldreamings.org/forgottenrealms/
Character database: Simply put, we need a database for characters of multiple games. This database will require different mechanics and numberical fields. The best say to describe it is through an example here: http://d20.digitaldreaming.org/node
On that website, please click on the SCORES login and attempt to create a Forgotten Realms character. This is pretty much the layout of what we are needing.
A database-driven registry storing characters based on the Dungeons and Dragons 3.5-edition game and a Pathfinder Game. The registry must be able to accept new character submissions via web interface, allow post-submission access only to the submitter (read-only) and specified administrative user group (full access), and link to the chat such that users may log into the chat under the alias of a submitted character, and the registry is alerted whenever such an alias is logged into the chat. Registered characters must be flagged as unable to access the chat client unless approved by an admin. Ideally, admins will have the ability to alter various dropdown menus representing list-based choices made during the submission process. (For example, if the registry asks where a character is from, admins would be able to populate the list of options via a separate interface.)
